The Constitution was set up to give powers to the Federal Government. The Constitution also in the bill of rights set limits on that power.
They were right. Our second President tried overturn the power of the Constitution by pass the Alien and Sedition acts. That law said that the Press could not attack the administration in power. But the constitution prevailed and we are still pretty darn free. The framers were right and Jefferson was right getting the first 10 amendments passed. Why did the framers make it so difficult to amend the constitution compared to creating legislation?Constitutions are difficult to change because, you never know who will be in power. If any crazy person could amend the constitution according to their whims, countries would collapse. Any evil action could be considered legal and there would be chaos as to what rights and responsibilities people haveWhy did the framers make it so difficult to amend the constitution compared to creating legislation? The Constitution sets the groubnd rules under which government is supposed to operate. If it were easy to amend, it would be worthless. How would you like to compete in a sport if the rules could be changed in the middle of the game?
