Should i lie on my resume for sales clerk type work? my family is in desperate times im 19?

my family is in alot of financial turmoil at the moment (we barely have food in the fridge %26amp; i barely have clothes to wear :/ thats how bad we are )

i dont have a high school diploma right now, cuz i failed out of high school, i was focusing more my time on carpentry than school work %26amp; i had bad influences like girls %26amp; friends (im not blaming them) i was like the ashton kutcher of my time in school lol

im also working to get back all 5 subjects i failed

do u think i should lie?

i also heard it would blight my career :/ but ive reached to desperate measures ive forced to do

i cant find any work at all most of them would be a great distance to go

im not cheating the system, i just need a job at the moment, so i could get the $$$ %26amp; study at night :) %26amp; move on to my dream of journalism :)

all of the interviews i went to they always check for the subjects on the resume, experience, and if i could actually do the job, they never ask for proof, (so far)

so do u think i should do it?

i feel awful that im resorting to this kinda thing

i live in trinidad so there no thing called a GED hereShould i lie on my resume for sales clerk type work? my family is in desperate times im 19?
They do background checks and will know you're lying.Should i lie on my resume for sales clerk type work? my family is in desperate times im 19?
If you lie, they may find out and then you will get fired. Lying often seems like the easier way, but it ends up being harder in the long run. Sounds like you have tried the easier way and it hasn't worked for you before - you have the opportunity to change your path in life. I've never been in Trinidad, so I don't know how you can get a job without a HS degree, but try asking everyone you know who is working if they know of any job you can do locally without a HS degree or if they know of anyone else who you could ask. Then ask those people, and keep going.

You could also try to create work for yourself - look around and see if there are any needs that people have that aren't being met that you could provide. One idea: You want to go into journalism - are there any stories that aren't being reported on right now that match your interests that people would be interested in that you could write on spec to show to the local newspaper to see if they would publish them? If you start to develop a track record, that will help you eventually and may help you raise money for right now.
Another possibility is to set yourself up to to write letters and emails for people who don't have writing skills or a computer. I just read an article about how in France there are professional writers that help people who don't have literary skills accomplish the things they need to do to participate in modern society - write letters or emails or fill out forms. I bet you could do that for people you know and ask them to pay you, so you would make some money.
