Every American should be able to buy a gun any time they want to and they should be able to buy as many guns as they want regardless of their criminal background or mental state. After all that was the purpose of the 2nd Amendment.Why can't people who support gun control legislation think logically and critically?Irony doesn't always play well when written.

I don't think the NRA is thinking logically at all, all they do is act as if any restrictions are the same as disarming the country.

But there has to be a point at which we can have people having arms without the majority of Americans being afraid of being shot by someone for going to a meeting, or a supermarket, or school.

I was once in a hospital while there was a shooting downstairs.



And we need to understand that its not just the criminal element that has guns they kill with.

Its the guy whose lost his job and kills his family, that was just this weekend.

And its the kid who wants to try his daddy's gun, we lose one child a year in my small town due to gun accidents.

And its the schoolkids tired of being bullied, or the guy going off and shooting his co workers.



Its not just criminals who kill. We need to go back to the ban on anything that will enable a gun to kill so efficiently that there is no recourse for twenty people even if someone else was armed.Why can't people who support gun control legislation think logically and critically?
Any right can be removed through due process. The right to bear arms is no different. Felons, domestic violence, mentally ill, these people have had their right taken through due process.

The vast majority of gun crimes are committed in cities with strict gun laws because the people are not armed but the criminals are.

The very notion of removing a persons right to hunt or defend themselves for any reason is just absurd.
They are scared by anything they don't understand, and/or anybody who disagrees with them.



I note that the US SUPREME COURT has ruled that it is NOT a police officer's job to protect you; their job is to catch the perpetrator AFTER the crime has been committed.



GIVEN THAT RULING, what are you going to do, let someone kill you or fight back?

Me, I want the biggest stick I can carry since I HAVE to defend myself, according to the supreme court; and a .45 or a shotgun does wonders at convincing the perp to go elsewhere, in MOST cases without the necessity of firing the weapon at all. (Just hearing the slide operate on a pump shotgun has scared off many an intruder!)



I also note that gun related "cause of death" is less than 2% of the deaths by other than natural causes or illness.

CARS make up over 20% of the deaths.

Let's outlaw cars FIRST.

In occupied Iraq and Afghanistan, people are allowed to own fully auto AK47s! When the Constitution was written and ratified it was put in place so that people could defend themselves against all enemies including the government when necessary. It wasn't until the 20th century when we stopped issuing a rifle , a mule and a gold piece to felons when released from prison.
