That is more than fair. We fought a war with England for taxes that were far less than that. Since then, government intrusion has grown a hundred fold and still they think it isn't enough. They want to tax everything. If they taxed energy a hundred per cent, it still wouldnt' be enough. - CAT system to limit carbon dioxide emissions and give companies an incentive to further limit their emissions. I would prefer this to the direct EPA regulations that will start in 2011.

- Tax incentives to alternative energy, such as geothermal and nuclear.

- Cut backs on subsidies to fossil fuels. There is no need to subsidize an industry that has no problem competing - and outdoing - everyone.

- I cannot remember which user here suggested this, but an attractive suggestion I heard was a system of awards for efficient, clean tech, or something along those lines. In other words, provide incentives for people to innovate.





As a side note, how viable would it be to fund and construct a fully operational 10gW solar power satellite in geostationary orbit?Congress legislation to address global warming - what would you like to see included?REAL governments standards to reduce pollution by big industries instead of buying credits to be allowed legally to pollute more.



An agreement to get away from so much oil imports and start using more green technology that the government suppresses like solar and wind technology and actually implement on a grand scale.

An end of pouring money into the bottomless pit of paid fear-mongering, and a ten-year pause in any climate policy of any kind to see if any of the predictions made already come true.
